| Osteoporosis in Workplace Programme was held at Women Press Club of India on 23rd Jan 2008. Bone Health checkup was done for more than 100 Journalists from leading Newspapers in the Camp. |

AFI organized a “Women Leaders Bone Health Initiative” on 28th September 2007 at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, where eminent women of society from various walks of life like medicine law, administration, police, art drama, literature, sports will passed a resolution about osteoporosis & the great challenge it posses in women. This resolution will impress upon the people especially the millions of women, Govt. of India, State Govts., policy makers & the media that how important it is to fight osteoporosis in women. It will also help in propelling the health policy in right direction. The event was extremely innovative in its concept & method to sensitize the women of India regarding bone health .It also highlighted the huge economic burden of disease on individuals, families and the nation especially in not so rich country like ours. |

AFI organized Bone health education cum awareness camp at “The Grand Intercontinental”, Goa on 22 nd September 2007 for Executives from various milk and beverages companies who had gathered for a conference. The camp stressed on the need for the executives to take up their timely bone health check ups and also encouraged their employees to take care of theirs and as well as their families bone health. |

AFI
launched Osteoporosis in workplace programme on 3rd
October 2006.The program will continue
for a period of one year at various
offices and workplaces. The first activity
was at Poorva
Sanskritik Kendra, East Delhi. AFI carried
out Bone Health Checkups of employees
there. AFI will also award a certificate
of ‘Bone
Responsible Organisations’ for those workplaces that fulfill the
criteria.

released a booklet on theme “Exercise” Move
it or lose it ! for
strong bones. The booklet was released by Mr.
Bishen Singh Bedi (Former Captain, Indian Cricket
Team) at
India Habitat Centre on 30th November
2005. The booklet has scientific inputs about
how exercises make the bones strong and also
some photographic illustrations about bone friendly
exercises. |

AFI
organised
more than 100 Bone Health Awareness Camps in Kolkata
and same number in Chennai beginning
from 12th November to 31th
March. The activity in both the cities is still
going on. The Camps were held in busy public places
like
Malls and Food Bazaars. Almost
thousands of people visited the camps and got the
BMD done free of cost. |

| Arthritis
Foundation of India (AFI) alongwith
International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF)
and World Health Organisation (WHO) launched “INDIA PROGRAM” on Osteoporosis “INVEST IN YOUR BONES”
on 30th
March 2005 at India Habitat Centre. IOF
was represented by Prof. Reginister, Head of
WHO Collaborating Centre and a world-renowned
scientist, Mr. Daniel Navid, CEO, IOF, Mr.
Paul Spencer Sochaczewski , Head of
Communication, IOF. Health officials attended
the program from Government Department, WHO
India Head, Secretary- Bone and Joint Decade,
Bureaucrats from Woman Welfare Department and
representatives from leading Indian & International Companies. The program was a
great success and highly interactive audience
gave some very important suggestions. |

Chief Minister of Delhi Ms Sheila Dixit released the Mannequin TV advertising CD of "India Wide Campaign" on 20th October 2004 that was World Osteoporosis Day. The mannequin Ad had a very successful airing on most of the major TV channels in India for two spells |

A Bone health Mela organized on 25th Dec 2003 at Govardhan Village, Mathura Distt. About 200 km. from Delhi. The Camp was a huge success & hundreds of villagers were given medicines & literature regarding bone health. .

National School of Drama (NSD) premises. NSD is the
factory from where thousands of famous & talented
actors, directors have come out.Also Ex-Director Ram Gopal Bajaj, Prof. A. Srivastava, along with faculty, staff & students took advantage of the camp. The camp was given wide publicity by Media. The picture gallery was highly appreciated. |
